Ionia Sentinel Standard, 21 Dec 1964

A route two, Lake Odessa farmer, Clair L. Utter, 86, died Sunday at 9:30 p.m. 
at Pennock hospital in Hastings where he had been a patient three months.  Son 
of Franklin and Eva Vement Utter, he was born in Wyoming township, Kent county, 
January 28, 1878.  March 11, 1912 he was married to Myrtle Moore and they lived 
on a farm on Bliss road for eleven years and moved to Lake Odessa from the 
Hastings area where he attended Grace Brethren church for 30 years.

Surviving are his wife, Eva; two sons, Gordon of Hastings and Merle Utter of 
St. Ignace; eight grand and three great-grandchildren.

Rev. Simon Tortoan will officiate at funeral service Wednesday at 1 p.m., at 
Pickens Funeral chapel and burial will be at Lakeside cemetery.
