Tuesday, Jan. 23, 1951 Services for Emmett Utter, 23, of Belding, who died of injuries received in Gibson's Refrigerator plant, were conducted at the Myers funeral hoe Monday at 2:00 o'clock. The Rev. Emanuel T. Burtch officiated. Bearers, all fellow-employees of Utter, were William Johnson, Dale Mason, Jesse Morea, Martin Burns, R.M. Neitzhe and Herman Gilbert. Military graveside services were conducted at Tuttle cemetery. Members of the Saranac American legion post who made up the firing squad were LeRoy L. Dausman, Harold Clark, Morris Sykes, Harold Hauter, Kenneth Tucker, Earl Sandborn and Bryce Baie. Frank Wirtz of Ionia was the bugler. Harold and Stanley Thorp and Fred Bowen of the Saranac American Legion post and Gordon Blum, Melvin Babcock, Clare Harold and Kenneth Witzel of the Stanton V.V.W. made up the color and honor guard.
