Lake Odessa Wave-Thursday August 26, 1976

RITES HELD FOR NORA VALDAYS

Mrs.Nora T. Valdays, 88, passed away Thursday afternoon, August 19 at the 
Christian Nursing Home at Belding. She  had been a patient there for a month 
following a five months illness.

She was born at Woodbury, Eaton County February 2, 1888, the daughter of Adam 
and Catherine (Bowman) Dell and had attended the Nead and Lake Odessa Schools.

She married Walter Tasker February 6, 1907, at Lake Odessa and they resided on a 
farm on Jackson Rd. He passed away September 20, 1957.

In 1960 she married William Valdays at South Gate, Calif., where she lived for 
five years until his death in 1965, when she returned to Lake Odessa to reside.

Mrs. Valdays was able to attend the golden wedding anniversary of her daughter 
and husband Mr and Mrs J.R.Jordan, April 25, 1976.

She was a member of theFirst Congregational Church, the Women's fellowship of 
the Church, the Friendship Club, West Odessa Missionary Service and the senior 
Citizens of Lake Odessa.

Surviving are one daughter Mrs.J.R. (Kathleen) Jordan of Lake Odessa; one son, 
Louis of Grand Ledge; two grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday at two o'clock at the Pickens-Koops Funeral 
Chapel. Rev. Gary Evans officiated with burial in Lakeside Cemetery.
