MARY GENE VALDES

Died Wednesday April 8, 2026-age 90 of Ionia formerly of Marshall.
Born January 11, 1936 in Dowagiac, MI, daughter of Eugene & Mary (Mosher)Valdes.
Mary Gene loved her time with the Green Acres Ionia family, affectionately know 
as "The Major".
She welcomed new residents, sharing her talents of gardening & crafting, 
participating in activities & outing  trips to Dollar Tree & Hobby Lobby.
Survived by her brother, Donald (Margaret) Valdes, sister-in-law, Rita Valdes, 
nieces & nephews, Onette McKenna, Colleen (Larry) Goodman, David (Gwen) O'Mara, 
Dianne (Phil) O'Mara, Joseph (Crystal) Hickey & Eugene O'Mara.
Preceded in death by her parents, Dean & Mary Valdes, Brother Dean Valdes, 
sister Charlene Valdes & dear friend, Marie O'Mara.
Rosary prayer on May 3rd at S.S.Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Ionia at 6pm.
A Memorial will be held at Green Acres in the Community room on May 4th at 1:30
with Father Eugene Batungbacal presiding.
Memorial donations may be made to Green Acres of Ionia Activities fund or West 
Michigan Hospice.
