RICHARD VALENTINE, 77
Richard Allen Valentine, 77, of Orleans, passed away Feb. 24, 2018

He was born June 7, 1840, in Clinton County, the son of Charles C. and Anna
E.(Truesdall) Valentine. On Nov. 28, 1964 , he married Christine Kanouse. He served in the U.S.
Navy. Richard owned an operated Valentine Builders until retirement in 2010. He was a
hunter and a fisherman, loved watching nature, camping and boating. He enjoyed tinkering and
being outdoors. He was gifted in fixing many things, He also loved reading history and
having coffee with the boys.

He is survived by his wife, Christine Valentine of Orleans; children Richard C.
(Kristin) Valentine of Belding, Elizabeth (Daniel) Lampe of Danielsville, GA.; grandchildren,
Victoria Lampe, Rikki (Paul) Ostrander, Jacob Lampe, Alexander Lampe, Christopher Valentine;
siblings, Nancy (William) Kirk of Rockford Emma (Lyman) Normington of Belding,
Buster (Barbara ) Valentine of Ionia, and Clare (Viva) Valentine of Lowell.He was preceded
in death by his parents and sisters, Susan Stowell and Mary Tasker.

Memorial service and Military Honors will be held at the Lake Funeral home in Ionia
on Satruday, March 10, at 12 p.m. with Pastor Ken Harger officiating. Visitation will
be Friday from 4-6 p.m and Saturday one hour prior tot he service at the funeral home.
