Lake Odessa Wave - August 9, 1945
          CHILD DIES AFTER OPERATION

   Six year old Sharon Valentine, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Valentine, living
southwest of here, died 
Thursday morning of last week in Pennock hospital at Hastings following an operation
for appendicitis.

   Surviving besides the parents are three brothers, Cletus and Nelson in the army,
Burl at Big Rapids, and 
three sisters Naomi, Margaret and Shirley.

   Funeral services were held at the Carlton Methodist church, Saturday afternoon
with burial in Lakeside 
cemetery here.
