Zina Eureka Vallad, 77, of Belding, passed away on Tues., Nov. 13, 2001, at
United Memorial Hospital in Greenville.  Mrs. Vallad was born on April 23, 1923
in Grayling, the daughter of John G. and Eureka Z. (Deckrow) Stephan.  She
married Welmon Vallad on Aug. 24, 1940.

Mrs. Vallad has been a longtime resident of Belding formerly of Arcadia, Fla.
and Grayling, where she spent time on the Au Sable River.  She was extremely
active at the Bellhaven community and will be greatly missed by her many friends
there.

She is survived by two sons, Gary (Cindy) Vallad of Parachute, Colo. and Melvin
(Song) Vallad of Killeen, Texas; one daughter, Judie Ann Vallad of Orlando,
Fla.; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Helen (Warren)
Hatfield of Grayling; one brother, Norman (Dorothy) Stephan of Grayling; and a
special nephew, Jack (Lillian) Vallad of Fenwick.  She was preceded in death by
her parents; her husband, Welmon (Barney) Vallad; brothers, Allen, Marx and Ray
Stephan; and a grandson, Barney Lee Vallad.

At the request of the family, there will be no visitation held.  Memorial
services will be 2 p.m., Tuesday at the Bellhaven Community Center in Belding
with Pastor Kenneth Harger officiating.  In accordance with Mrs. Vallad’s
wishes, cremation has already taken place.  The family suggests memorial
contributions to the Bellhaven Community Activities Fund.  Arrangements were
handled by the Stebbins and Simpson Funeral Home of Sheridan.
