         SUSAN OWEN VAMVAKIAS

Died July 14, 2024-age 64 of Ionia of stage 4 cancer.
Born July 25, 1958 in  Newberry, MI, daughter of Alec & Sharon (Owen) McKelvey.
Married January 12, 1998 in Durand, MI to Byron N. Vamvakias.
Susan worked as correction officer and a nurse.
Her favorite pastime was a good book with a cup of coffee.
She was a fierce friend, loved company, & adored her grandchildren.
Surviving is her husband,Byron Vamvakias, Children; Sharon (Scott) Price, Leslie 
Shie, Charles (Melissa) Shie II & Casey (Allen) Hustin. 
Grandchildren;Nicole, Rory, Tristan, Sarah, Charles III, Scott, Allen,Owen, 
Catherine, Jessica, Ian, Maria and Aaron.
Step parents;Diane McKelvey and Lawrence Yeko.
Siblings; Max ( Ellen McKelsey, Sheryl (Gary) Greider, Jon (Jennifer) McKelvey, 
Mary Johansen, A.G.(Jodi) McKelvey & Alex McKelvey & several nieces & nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents, brother,Ben McKelvey & Mother & Father-in-law 
Nick & Barbara Vamvakias.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church on Tuesday, 
July 18, 2023 at 11:00.
Father Tom Brown presiding, 
Rite of Committal to follow at Letts Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.
Memorial contribution may be made to American cancer Society.
