Rev. Paul Stewart officiated. Music was furnished by Beatrice A. Smith, who played hymns. George was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John B. Van Antwerp, deceased. He was born in Muir 52 years ago and was united with the Muir Church of Christ in 1905. His father and mother were early members of this church. There is a Van Antwerp memorial window in the church. Mr. Van Antwerp was a Master Engraver and was registered with the U.S. Department at Washington. He made many plates for magazine covers and rotogravure sections of Sunday papers. He was actively engaged in his profession up to the time he was stricken. Mr. Van Antwerp died in a Detroit hospital Saturday, January 2, 1937. He is survived by his wife, his daughter Doris and son Bud, Mrs. Anna Tooker, a sister, who was too ill to attend his funeral , and a nephew, Clifford Tooker. He was of a very sunny disposition and all who know him have many happy remembrances.
