Clifton H. Van Buren, 82, of route 1, Muir, a lifelong area farmer, died 
Sunday (July 29) at Ionia Manor.  He was a veteran of World War I and a member 
of American Legion Dale Hyland Post 129.  

Mr. Van Buren is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Virginia Davids of Sunfield 
and Mrs. Ethelyn Putney of Grand Ledge; four sons, Ionia County District Court 
Judge Ronald C. Van Buren, Vernon of Ionia, Laurence of Everett and Kenneth of 
Guthrie Center, Iowa; 19 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one sister, 
Mrs. Mable Morgridge of Portland; and one brother, Vernon of Harrison, Ark.

Funeral services are being held this afternoon (August 1) at the Neller 
Funeral Home with Rev. Maurice Christensen officiating.  American Legion will 
hold graveside services at the  burial in Danby cemetery.
