The Carson City Gazette, May 7, 1920
Elizabeth M. Lewis was born in North Plains, Ionia county, Michigan, February 
19, 1845, and departed this life April 22, 1920.  She was united in marriage 
to Garrett VanBuren March 10, 1909.  She had been a member of the M.E. church 
for forty or fifty years, but on account of poor health had not been able to 
attend very regularly for some time.  She was also a member of the W.R.C. of 
this place and the Crystal Grange. 

She leaves to mourn her departure besides her husband, one sister, Susan Lewis 
of this place, and three brothers, Harmon Lewis of Perrinton, Will Lewis of 
Near Middleton and Ira Lewis of Durand.

The funeral services were held at the M.E. church in Carson City Sunday 
afternoon, April 25, Rev. C. S. Burchfield officiating, and her remains were 
laid to rest in the Hubbardston west side cemetery.
