Kidney and bladder disease was the cause of his death and he has been a great sufferer from them for several years. Funeral services were conducted from his late home on Sunday forenoon last, Rev. Millard officiating. Mr. Van Buren was at one time one of the leading farmers of Portland township and formerly owned and occupied the farm now occupied by Mrs. Torrance, having built the commodious house on that place. He was an honest, upright man and a good farmer. A widow and several children survive him.
