Oldest Resident Passes Away

Uncle Chancey B. Vance, the oldest resident of Pewamo, passed away at his home 
early Saturday morning.  General debility due to his advanced age, being 
nearly 88 years old, was the cause of his demise.  The funeral was held at the 
church Tuesday afternoon, Rev. W. W. Hurd officiating.  Six nephews, John, 
Herbert and Frederick Dunn of Pewamo and Gene, Fred and Emmett Vance of Lyons 
acted as pall bearers.  The remains were laid to rest in East Plains 
cemetery.  Mesdames Snyder of Pewamo and Bradt of Lyons sang several beautiful 
selections during the church services.  The funeral obsequies were in charge 
of Undertaker A. E. Bradt of Lyons.
