All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/mi/mifiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Terri Vance theresannv@gmail.com February 4, 2007, 9:30 pm The Lyons Herald, October 24, 1912 Was An East Plains Pioneer Emmet Vance Passes Away At Home of His Daughter, Mrs. Bigelow at Ashley Emmet Vance, eldest and only surviving son of John Vance, one of the first settlers of Lebanon township, passed away last Sunday morning, October 20th, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Asa Bigelow, at Ashley. The remains were brought to Pewamo Tuesday on the noon train and taken to the Baptist church where the funeral services were held, being conducted by the Pastor, Rev. F. MacGirr. The interment was made in East Plains cemetery, which is a part of the old homestead farm, where he spent the greater portion of his life. The deceased was a pioneer resident of Lebanon Township and has many friends and relatives in this community.
