Branch of Ionia officiating. Singing by Mrs. A. Bradt of Lyons. Burial in North Plains cemetery. The six sons acted as pallbearers. Oscar Vance was a pioneer resident of Pewamo, having moved with his parents when two years old on the old homestead about two miles from Pewamo, and lived there for 57 years, having purchased the farm after his father’s death. Two years ago he rented the farm to his son, Andrew Vance, and purchased a home in Pewamo. Mr. Vance had not been in the best of health for some time and while talking with his brother, C. E. Vance, of this town, and his wife, dropped dead. Oscar Vance was born in Westphalia, Mich., in 1857. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife and six sons, Emery, Otto, Andrew, Oscar Jr., Carlton, of Pewamo, Mrs. Roy Stout of North Plains, Corey, of Mt. Pleasant, two brother and four sisters. Mrs. Otta Patrick and Mrs. Nora Myers of Grand Rapids were here over Sunday to attend the funeral of their brother, Oscar Vance.
