The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Thursday, January 12, 1967
Otto C. Vance, 71, a lifelong resident of Pewamo, died Wednesday at 2 a.m. at 
Blodgett hospital in Grand Rapids.  Mr. Vance was born in Ionia county January 
14, 1895, the son of Oscar and Clarissa Messer Vance and attended Pewamo 
public schools.  He was a rural mail carrier many years.  In 1915 he was 
married to Florence Hanford in Pewamo and was a member of Methodist church, 
life member of Pewamo Lodge F&AM and Pewamo Lions club.

Surviving are his wife, Florence; two daughters, Mrs. James Kistler of Lyons 
and Mrs. Robert Rathburn of Manistee; one sister, Mrs. Julia Stout of Muir, 
and three brothers, Andrew and Corey of Pewamo and Carl of Shepherd; six 
grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Osgood funeral home, St. 
Johns with Rev. Gerald Churchill, Methodist church near St. Johns, officiating 
with burial in East Plains cemetery, Pewamo.
