The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Monday, December 8, 1958
Mrs. Elizabeth T. Vance of route one, Pewamo, died early Monday morning at 
University hospital, Ann Arbor, at the age of 67.  

She was born at Hubbardston, July 5, 1891, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank 
Barker and at the age of 10 moved to Battle Creek with her family.  She was 
married to Andrew Vance, February 16, 1919 and since then had lived two miles 
north of Pewamo on the Hubbardston road.  Mrs. Vance was a member of Pewamo 
Methodist church and WSCS.

She is survived by her husband, Andrew, a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Venice) 
Oliver of Ionia, two grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Ila Wallace of Battle 
Creek and Miss Venice Barker of Tucson, Ariz.; a brother, Rev. Lee W. Barker 
of Anacontes, Wash.

Funeral services will be held at Myers funeral home Thursday at 2 p.m.  The 
Rev. Richard Kidder of Lyons Methodist church will officiate.  Burial will be 
in East Plains cemetery.  There will be a memorial fund established for Mrs. 
Vance.
