Alice M. Vandecar
Alice M. Garman was born in Berlin township, Ionia county, Michigan, January 28th
1859 and died at her home in Odessa township, Ionia county, October 17, 1915 aged 56
years, 8 months, 18 days.

She was married July 4th, 1880 to Arthur Vandecar, they residing in Berlin township
for a few years, then they moved to the home in Odessa township, where they have since
lived.

She was a kind loving wife and mother, who suffered her trials and hardships without
a murmer. Some 21 years ago she joined the Methodist church to which she faithfully 
adhered until death.

Although being in declining health for a number of years no immediate alarm was felt
until Sunday morning, when she was attacked with a stroke of apoplexy from which she never
rallied.

There are left to mourn their loss, her husband, Arthur Vandecar, two sons, Lewis H.
of Mulliken, Michigan, and William A. of Rosalia, Washington, one brother, Lewis Garman
of lake Odessa, Michigan, six grandchildren, besides a host of other relatives and
friends.
