RITES HELD FOR ARTHUR VANDECAR

   Arthur N. VandeCar, 68 of 13495 Jordan Lake Hwy. passed away Thursday morning at
th Iona Manor where 
he had been a patient for a year.
   He was born in Berlin Twp. Ionia County January 14, 1909 and his parents were
Edwin and Mary (Tusing) 
VandeCar and had attended the Bretz rural school.
   He married Mabel Chupp, November 28,1934 and they resided on a farm near Woodbury
until moving to 
Lake Odessa in 1945.
   He was employed by the Lake Odessa Canning Company before he was employed by the
General Tire in 
Ionia for 14 years and retired in 1972.
   Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. David (Marlene) Kruger; a daughter in
law, Mrs. Alice Forshey; both 
of Lake Odessa; four grand children; two brothers Leon of Woodland and Clarence of
Hastings; nieces and 
nephews.  A son passed away in 1972. 
   Funeral services were held Monday at 1:30 at the Pickens - Koops Funeral Chapel
with burial in Lakeside 
cemetery. Rev. Elwyn Dietrick officiated.
