She was born in Nashville, October 7, 1874 and with her parents, Simon and Eliza Hummel Tuesing, residing in Odessa township where she attended the Odessa Center school. Her early married life was spent in Berlin township area, later moving to this vicinity and then to Woodbury about six years ago where Mr Vandecar died two years ago last February. Surviving are three sons, Leon of Woodland, Clarence of Hastings and Arthur of Lake Odessa, one sister Miss Eva Tuesing of Woodbury, a brother, Harry Tuesing of Lake Odessa, 24 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sunday at 3 pm at the Pickens Chapel with burial in Lakeside cemetery. Rev. Vernon Beardsley of Woodbury officiated. Those from out of town attending the services were Mr and Mrs Thane Butcher and Mrs Aton Smith of Saranac, Mr and Mrs Roy Paine and daughter, Mr and Mrs James Melle and baby and Mr and Mrs Dale Smith of Lowell, Mr and Mrs Samuel Kaufman of Portland, Mr and Mrs Harlow Seger and Edward Kaufman of Freeport. Mr and Mrs Carl Jensen and daughter Mary Ellen of Grand Rapids Mr and Mrs Chalmer Carey of Jackson and Mr and Mrs M.D. McCloud of Nappanee, Ind.
