VanderHeyden of 926 West Main street died Wednesday morning at Ionia Rest home where she had been a patient since February 1, 1959. She was born in Muskegon, the daughter of Henry and Helen Clark Buck. Following her graduation from Muskegon high school she came to Ionia where she taught penmanship and had charge of the commercial room. She taught school two years before her marriage in 1895 to Fred H. VanderHeyden. He died September 13, 1952. Mrs. VanderHeyden continued to live at the West Main street home following her husband’s death. Her charity interests included Red Cross work and she served on the board of directors several years, good will and welfare work. She was a member of First Methodist church. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Jessie Moon of Los Angeles, Calif.; one niece, Margaret of Los Angeles, and two grand nieces. Funeral service will be conducted at Boynton funeral home Saturday at 2 p.m. The Rev. Harold A. Jayne will officiate and interment will be at Oak Hill cemetery.
