Muir—Services will be held today at 1:30 p.m. in the Hull Memorial Chapel for 
Peter VanderVelde, 78, of Howell, who died Friday afternoon at a Howell 
hospital after a short illness.  The Rev. Howard McDonald of the Pewamo United 
Methodist Church will officiate.  Burial will be in the Forest Grove Cemetery 
in Hudsonville.

Mr. VanderVelde was born December 15, 1901 in Zeeland, the son of Weibe and 
Nellie VanderVelde.  He was married to Janet Keizer.  She died in 1949.  Mr. 
VanderVelde married Henrietta Stewart.  She die din 1967.

Mr. VanderVelde was a former employee of the Hale Flour Mill of Ionia.  He 
retired as office manager of  the Pewamo Elevator in 1974.

Survivors include two sons, Wallace of Winchester, Mass., and Myron of Howell, 
one stepson, Russell Stewart of Largo, Fla.; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Margaret 
Nielsen of Muskegon Heights; one sister, Mrs. Jacob Hop of Holland; six 
grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.  One daughter preceded Mr. 
VanderVelde in death.
