Mrs. Peter VanderVelde, 49, died at her home at 447 E. Lincoln at 11:45 Friday 
morning, Nov. 4.  Janet Kreiger was born in Forest Grove, Ottawa County, 
January 7, 1900.  She was married to Peter VanderVelde and they came to Ionia 
from Hudsonville, Mich. several years ago.

Surviving besides the husband are three children, Carol, a graduate assistant 
at Michigan State College, Wallace, a Junior at Purdue University, and Myron 
at home; her mother, Mrs. Cyrus Kreiger of Forest Grove; four brothers, Gerrit 
C. of Byron Center, James of Forest Grove and Bernard and Ernest of San 
Francisco, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Henrietta Kreiger of LaPorte, Ind., and 
Mrs. John P. DeWitt.

Rev. George Rentschler officiated at the service held from Myers Funeral Home 
Monday morning.  Burial was at Forest Grove Monday afternoon following service 
at the Forest Grove Reformed Church.
