Ionia Sentinel Standard, 30 Sep 1971

Mrs. Gertrude Vandevenne, 73, of 230 Elm, Portland, died Wednesday at Ionia
Manor.  She and her husband once owned the produce and grocery store on old 16
many years.  He preceded her in death several years ago.

Surviving are two sons, Joseph of Lansing and Thomas of Graybill, Ind.; a
daughter, Marilyn Vandevenne of Portland; brother, Raymond Souter of Holland;
sister, Mrs. Charlotte Kelley of Holiday, Fla.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Neller funeral home in Portland.
 Rev. Maurice Christenson of Portland Baptist church will officiate.  Interment
will be at Greenwood cemetery, Fowlerville.
