Ionia Daily Standard, page 4, 10 Jan 1901

Elias A. Van Doren died this morning after a long and severe illness, at the
home of his sister, Mrs. George Hosford, Berlin.  Deceased was 79 years old, and
has lived in the county 22 years, coming here soon after the death of his wife,
to make his home with Mr. and Mrs. Hosford.  He had no children.  Funeral
service at the Hosford residence on Saturday, at 2 p.m.
