Ionia – Gary H. VanDrie, 50, Belding, passed away Friday, July 18, 1997, at his
home.  He was born April 30, 1947, in Grand Rapids, the son of John and Yvonne
Billick VanDrie.  He grew up in Ionia and attended Ionia Public Schools.  He was
a supervisor for the Brown Corporation for nearly 13 years.  He loved hunting,
fishing, and golf and was a talented handyman and craftsman.  He was a member of
the Belding Athletic Boosters and an avid Belding football fan.

He married Brenda Cousins on Sept. 7, 1996, at Shiloh Community Church.  She
survives with one daughter, LeeAnn VanDrie; two sons, Jason and Mark VanDrie;
three stepdaughters, Jamie, Jennifer and Laura Wooliever; one stepson, Mark
Butler II; one sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Mike White; one brother and
sister-in-law, John and Marcia VanDrie; several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Shiloh Community Church, Orleans,
with the Rev. Kendall Harger officiating.  Memorial contributions may be made to
Helping Hands Hospice.  Envelopes are available at the Cook Funeral Home, Ionia.
