Herman VanDrie, 87, of 433 Taylor court died Tuesday in a Belding nursing home. 
He had been in ill health the past two years.

He was born May 16, 1885 in Utriect, Netherlands. In 1934 he came to Ionia from 
Cedar Springs and operated the Model Bakery from 1935 to 1935. He was a baker 
65 years. He attended the Zion United Methodist church.

Besides his wife, Cornelia, he leaves two sons, Gerrit J. of Greenville and 
Henry of Mt. Pleasant, on e daughter, Mrs. Mary Chase of Grand Rapids, eight 
grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, and a 
sister, Mrs. Dick VanHeusden of Grand Rapids.

Funeral services will be Friday at d2:30 p.m. at Myers funeral home Rev. 
Chester Erickson will officiate and interment will be at Balcom cemetery.

Rev. Chester Erickson of the Zion United Methodist church officiated at funeral 
services Friday for Herman VanDrie who died Tuesday, Interment was at Balcom 
cemetery.

Bearers were Henry, Gary, John, Jr., Dennis, Greg and Henry VanDrie, Jr.
