The Carson City Gazette, Friday, February 16, 1889
Died—the 9th last, Sanford Vandusen, of old age, at the residence of his son-
in-law, James Inman.  Mr. Vandusen was well known by many having lived in 
Ionia and Gratiot counties for many years.  He was  man of great benevolence 
and loved by all, and in council a father of all.  Mr. Vandusen was 74 years 
old last December.  He is the father of five sons and two daughters whom are 
left to mourn his loss.  The funeral services were held in the Methodist 
church in Hubbardston at 11 o’clock a.m.  The remains were laid to rest by the 
side of his wife who preceded him to the sprit world nearly six years.
