Howard J. VanDyke Jr., 50, of Orleans, passed away Tuesday evening, June 20, 
2006 at Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids. Howard was born on 
February 17, 1956 in Grand Rapids, the son of Howard and Joann Hoffman 
VanDyke.  Howard loved hunting and fishing and enjoyed Nascar. He had a voice 
that could always be heard and a true love of family and friends.  He will be 
greatly missed. 

He was married on June 29, 2001 in Ionia to Debra Shattuck and she survives 
along with their children; Kris VanDyke of Grand Rapids, Brandy Dunmyer and 
fiance Matt Tissue of Belding and Mark Dunmyer of Orleans.  Howard is also 
survived by his grandson Moo, his parents Howard and Joann VanDyke of Grand 
Rapids, his brothers; Richard VanDyke and Lisa of Rockford, Ray and Barb 
VanDyke of Belding, his nieces Melanie, Angela and Kendra; his nephews Chad, 
Shaune, Gary, Jeremy, Josh and his great nephew Hunter and two great nieces 
Ashlyn and Kailey.

Funeral services will 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral 
Home, Belding with Pastor Ken Harger of Shiloh Community Church officiating.  
Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and two hours 
prior to the funeral on Saturday.  Memorial Contributions may be given to The 
American Cancer Society.
