Ionia Sentinel – 18 July 1913
Sarah E. Hunter was born in Oakland Co., Mich., and September 19, 1842; was 
married in July, 1857, to Orson VanGiesen who passed away April 29, 1903.  To 
this union were born eight children;  Mrs. Samuel Pitt, Mrs. Harry S. Hubbell, 
Mrs. John VanGiesen, Adah VanGiesen and Terry VanGiesen, all of Orleans, Mrs. 
Henry L. Nielsen of Ronald, Mrs. A. Merton Eaves, of Belding and Mrs. Wallace 
H. Haight of Ionia.  All of them survive her except Mrs. Henry Nielson who 
passed away March 12, 1912.  Ten grandchildren and one great grandchild are 
also left to mourn her loss.
