Van Hoose, 73, of Greenville, died Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003 at United Memorial Health Center. She was born in Trufant on July 2, 1929 the daughter of Alik and Helene M. Norton Hansen. She married Jack S. Van Hoose at St. Charles Catholic Church in Greenville on September 18, 1948. She worked with her husband at Jack’s Bait and Tackle for many years and also Boyd Williams Co. She was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church were she served as minister of Hospitality and volunteered with the Community Food Pantry. She and her husband also delivered Meals on Wheels. She was also a member of the Auxiliaries of the Cleveland Woverton V.F.W. post of the American Legion, Ray I. Boot Post of Greenville, was in the Greenville Women’s Bowling league and loved to play bingo. She especially enjoyed her time with her family at the cottage at Houghton Lake. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Jack S. Van Hoose of Greenville; their daughter, Julie Larsen and Michael Welsh of Ionia; son and daughter-in- law, Stephen and Kathy Van Hoose of Greenville; grandchildren, Michael and Denell Larsen of Trufant and Sara Van Hoose and Josh Van Hoose of Greenville; two great grandchildren, Makenzie and Jackson; brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Hazel Hansen of Greenville; her special cousin, Catherine and Howard Larsen; her mother-in-law, Madeline Van Hoose; brother-in-law, Robert and Elaine Van Hoose; sister-in-law, Betty Hansen all of Greenville; and nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Judy Ann on Dec. 14, 1949, her parents and her brother James Hansen. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 a.m. from St. Rest haven Memory Gardens, Belding. Visitation is Tuesday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Hurst Funeral Home with a vigil service at 8:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Charles Church Building fund.
