Van Hoose, 96, of Greenville, died Wednesday, April 21, 2004 at Metron of Greenville. She was born in Saranac on September 10, 1907, the daughter of Clarence and Ethel Hull Seifried. She was a graduate of Greenville High School with the class of 1925, a member of Greenville First United Methodist Church, the Esther Circle and the Greenville Senior Center. She lived on MacClain Road farm on the Montcalm County line for many years with her husband, Floyd C. Van Hoose, whom she married on September 10, 1925 in Greenville. She played the church organ for the former Oakgrove Church. She lived to enjoy three sets of five generations of the Van Hoose family. She was preceded in death by her husband on November 30, 1979; son Jack Van Hoose on February 3, 2004; daughter-in-law, Mary Van Hoose, on February 14, 2003; brother, Edmund Siefried; and sisters, Evelyn McGee and June Snider. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Elaine Van Hoose of Greenville; grandchildren, Nancy and Bruce Bertelson of Grand Rapids, Sharon Petersen of Grand Blanc, Steve and Kathy Van Hoose of Greenville, Julie Larsen of Ionia; great-grandchildren, Melissa, Matthew and Beth, Christen, Lauren, Katie, Mike, Renee, Sarah, Sara, Josh and Michael; great-great-grandchildren, Makenzie, Jackson, Cameron and Jackson; brother-in-law, Robert McGee of Saranac; and nieces and nephews. Funeral services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Greenville First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Harry R. Johnson officiating. Burial is in Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Belding. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Hurst Funeral Home, Greenville. Memorial contributions may be given to the First United Methodist Church building fund or the American Cancer Society.
