When 7 years of age she moved with her parents from Ohio to Michigan and settled in Sebewa in 1854. In 1861 her mother died and thus at the age of 14 much of the responsibility of housekeeping rested upon Arminda. In July of 1866 she was married to John VanHorn with whom she had lived in harmonious fellowship to the time of her death. She was the mother of two sons, George and Elmer who, with the father, are left to mourn her departure. Mrs. VanHorn was converted and united with the Methodist Episcopal church under the ministry of Rev. A. P. Moors in 1872. Her church fellowship had not been as regular and satisfactory as it would have been but for her many years of infirm health. Her obligation to God, however has never been lost sight of. Card of Thanks: We desire to publicly thank those kind friends and neighbors who did so much for us during our great bereavement in the loss of our wife and mother. And especially do we thank those who contributed such an abundance of beautiful floral offerings, first among which were those from the W.R.C. J. W. VanHorn, Elmer, and Mr. and Mrs. G. J.
