Ionia Sentinel Standard, 22 Feb 1983

Alma VanHouten, 81, 1800 Lillian Blvd, Apartment B-22, Portland, died Monday in 
St. Lawrence Hospital, Lansing.  She was born July 4, 1901, in Westphalia, the 
daughter of John and Mary Rademacher.  Her husband, Cloyce VanHouten, preceded 
her in death in 1979.  She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church, a life member 
of the Altar Society, and a 35-year member of the Rosary Club.

Surviving are two sons, Neil of Lansing and John of Sunfield; six 
grandchildren; one great grandchild; and one sister, Mrs. Dora Pohl, of 
Westphalia.

Rosary services will be Tuesday and Wednesday evening at 8 p.m. at the Neller 
Funeral Home, Portland.  Funeral mass will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. 
Patrick’s Catholic Church, Portland, the Rev. Donald Weber officiating.  Burial 
will be in Portland Cemetery.
