VanHouten, 74, of Mecosta formerly of Ionia, passed away Oct. 24, 2001. He was born Aug. 31, 1927 in Lake Odessa, the son of William G. and Clara (Hough) VanHouten. He married Dortha December of 1948. He attended Howard City High School. He was a World War II veteran. He worked in Tool and Die for the Chrysler Plant in Lyons until 1979. He was a life member of the Ionia Moose Lodge. He was a former owner and a driver of a stock car. Keith is survived by his wife of 52 year, Dortha VanHouten of Mecosta; son, Mike (Pat) VanHouten of Muir; daughter, Linda VanHouten of Ionia; one sister, Geneva Denny of Florida; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday at the Lake Funeral Home in Ionia with Rev. Donald Ruff officiating. Interment Balcom Cemetery. Visitation will be at 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home. Anyone wishing may make memorial contributions to Barryton Church of Christ Building Fund or First Baptist Church in Ionia.
