Anna Van Houten Died Wednesday

Mrs. Anna VanHouten, 87, of route 2, Lake Odessa, passed away Wednesday
afternoon at the Bidwell Convalescent home near Sunfield.  She was a lifelong
resident of Ionia county and had been a patient at the home for about three
years.  Her husband, D.W. passed away four years ago.

The only survivors are nieces and nephews.

The VanHoutens owned and operated a country store across the road from their
present home for years and Mr. VanHouten was a painter by trade.  The building
was moved across the street where it now stands when the highway M-66 was built.

Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 at the Pickens funeral chapel with
burial in Lakeside cemetery.  Rev. Edward Stevenson, of the Nazarene church, at
Portland, officiated.
