June 11, 1908 Priscilla L. Loveridge was born in Fayette, Seneca Co., New York, March 14, 1813, where she lived with her parents until July 2, 1859, when she was united in marriage with Delos VanHouten at the age of 16 years. They made their home in Romulus, Seneca Co, New York until, September, 1865 when they came to Michigan and settled on a farm in Odessa where they have since lived until about two years ago. She was stricken with paralysis last November since which time she has gradually failed until her death which occurred at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Samuel Snyder, in Sebewa, June 6, 1908. To this union were born ten children, four of whom died in infancy. She leaves to mourn their loss, a husband and six children, viz., Mrs. John Curtis of Kalamo, Mrs. Lester Durkee and Mrs. Samuel Snyder of Sebewa and Archie, Roy and Mrs. Oscar Grey of Odessa, also three sisters living in New York. She was a faithful wife, an affectionate mother, and a patient sufferer in her afflictions and had faith in a loving, heavenly father and resigned herself to death in the hope of a future life and meeting with loved ones in the great beyond. The funeral was held from the M.E. church in this village Tuesday afternoon, Rev. Luther officiating.
