VAN HOUTEN, (MRS. MAX L.) REVA M. (GOODENOUGH):
   IONIA SENTINEL STANDARD, MI, 5-9-1988:  "Area obituaries - LAKE ODESSA - Reva
M. (Goodenough) VanHouten, 69, of 475 E. Musgrove Highway, Lake Odessa, died
Sunday, May 1 in Pennock Hospital in Hastings.
   She was born Sept. 24, 1918, in Orange Township, the daughter of Louie and
Barbara (Croel) Goodenough.  She attended Travis Elementary School and Lake
Odessa High School.
  She was married to Max L. VanHouten on August 1, 1937, in Sturgis.  She was a
member of the First Baptist Church of Sebewa and was a resident of the Sebewa
area for the past 42 years.
  Survivors include her husband, Max; three sons, Lyle of Sunfield, Roy of
Sunfield, Lee of Tower; three daughters, Joan Deer of Cadillac, Joyce Gates of
Maylene, Ala., and Judy Shilton of Eagle; 15 grandchildren; two
great-grandchildren; one sister, Vera Wells of Elkhart, Ala. and two
sisters-in-law, Serena Goodenough of Vermontville and Vada Rosher of Mason; and
several nieces, nephews and cousins.  One brother, Howard, preceded her in death.
  Funeral services were Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Koops Funeral Chapel in
Lake Odessa, with the Rev. Dick Cross and the Rev. Duane Walter officiating. 
Burial was in the Sebewa Baptist Cemetery.
  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or to the
First Baptist Church.  Friends met with the family at the Koops Funeral Chapel
from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Tuesday."
