Lake Odessa Wave - March 29, 1962
           MINNIE M. VANHOUTON DIED WEDNESDAY
   Mrs. Minnie M. VanHouten, 87, route 3, passed away at St. Lawrence hospital
Lansing, Wednesday 
forenoon.  She had been a patient at the hospital for four and a half weeks, after a
long period of ill health.
   She was a lifelong resident of the area and had always resided on the same farm
on Musgrove Highway.  Her 
parents were Suel and Laura Backus of Odessa  township.
   Surviving are a daughter Frieda at home; a son, Merle of Hastings; six
grandchildren, and fourteen great 
grandchildren.
   Mrs. Vanhouten was a member of the Sebewa Baptist church.
   Mrs. VanHousten reposes at the Pickens Funeral Chapel and funeral arrangements
have not bee completed.
