The young woman had been employed at the Corduroy Rubber company in Grand Rapids and was on her way to work from her parents’ home seven miles northwest of Lake Odessa, when apparently she lost control of her car and crashed into a bank about 20 miles west of here on US-16. Mrs. VanMaldegen was taken to the hospital by Fred Butcher of Saranac who told hospital attaches that he found her sitting near her wrecked car in a dazed condition. Mrs. VanMaldegen was married to Donald VanMaldegen of Grand Rapids about a year ago. She is survived by her husband, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Streeter, two brothers James and Charles, and two sisters, Mrs. Thomas Stoepher of Sparta and Joyce Streeter.
