Daily Standard - Fri. Nov. 6, 1908

James VanNess, who has been seriously sick at the Bailey House for past two 
weeks, died at 1:30 this morning. His age was 75. Two daughters, Mrs. E. Clark 
of Terre Haute, Ind., and Miss Ada VanNess of Avon, N.Y., have been with him 
during most of the period of his illness. Mr. Clark and daughter have also been 
here a few days. Remains accompanied by the friends, will be taken to Avon, 
N.Y., the interment, leaving on the 7:56 G. T. train this evening.
