Mr. Van Norman was born in the state of New York 70 years ago and came to Michigan when a lad and lived most of the time since in this county. He lived for 38 years on the farm where he died. This he purchased of Eli Greenhoe. He was a member of the Order of Gleaners and held offices in this order at different times. He is survived by the widow, who was (illigible) Sommers of New York and three children, Mrs. C. C. Luce of Ronald; Murial of Marshall, and Jay of Palo. Also four grandchildren, Miss Lorena Van Norman of Los Angeles, California; Mrs. Valley Corey of Battle Creek; Greydon and Dee Van Norman of Ronald. The funeral will be held on Saturday at 2 o’clock from the late home one mile east of the Ronald Literary hall. Burial in the North Plains cemetery. Another Publication: The Ionia County News, Thursday, June 26, 1924 Ronald township lost one of its well known and highly respected residents on Wednesday night at 11:25 o’clock, when Almon Van Norman, 70, passed away at his home. For half a century he has resided in Ronald township and had a large acquaintance of friends. He leaves a widow, one daughter, Mr. C. C. Luce of Ronald, and two sons, Joe and Merle, both of Ronald. The funeral will be held on Saturday at 2 o’clock eastern standard time, from the late home. Burial will be made in North Plains cemetery.
