VanNornum, 78, Ronald township, widow of Almon VanNornum, died Tuesday morning at 5:30 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C.C. Luce, near Palo, following an illness of several weeks. She had been in poor health for the past year but was taken seriously ill several weeks ago. She was born in Steuben county, New York, and came to Ionia county with her parents when she was 12 years old and they settled in Ronald township just east of the Ronald literary hall where she had resided practically all her life. She was united in marriage to Almon VanNornum, also of Ronald, who died June 2, 1924. Surviving are two sons, Jay VanNornum who resides with his mother; and Murven VanNornum, of Marshall; and one daughter, Mrs. C. C. Luce; two brothers, George Summers and Homer Summers, of Walnut Creek, Cal.; four grandsons and two great-grandsons. Funeral service will be held from the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. C. Luce, Ronald township, Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock.
