Life Long Resident Answers Summons.
E.R. VanNortwick, long time resident of this city, passed away Saturday morning at
10:30 at his home on Harrison avenue. He was born in Sheridan and was 71 years of age at the
time of his death.

He was married in 1891 to Ettie Hollandswoth, and the couple were the parents of
five children, two of whom died in infancy.  Mrs. VanNortwick passed away in 1923. In
1924 Mr. VanNortwick was married to Mrs. Mae Cooper, who survives.

Surviving besides the widow are two daughters, Mrs. Lizzie McDonaldson of Battle
Creek and Mrs. Ida McDougal of Baldewin, a son, Guy VanNortwick of Pentwater, and four
step-children, Clyde Cooper of Grattan, Glen Cooper of near Rockford, Leon Cooper of this
city and Mrs. Martha Culver of Flint, and two grandchildren.

Funeral rites were conducted at Fitzjohn's funeral home Monday afternoon with Rev.
J. A. Hudnutt officiating. Interment was in River Ridge cemetery.
