He had worked Friday morning but feeling ill decided to remain home that afternoon. He had gone outside to the coal bin and upon his return to his kitchen slumped to the floor with a heart attack. He was born in Lenawee county June 30, 1873, the son of John and Sabina VanNortwick. The family moved to Greenville. July 4, 1900 he married Emma Blumberg and eighteen years ago moved to Belding from Entrican. He is survived by his widow; five daughters, Mrs. Fred Myers of Stanton, Mrs. Joe Shultema and Mrs. Bud Heintz of Grand Rapids, Mrs. Frank Burgman of Grandville and Mrs. Ervin Kasten of Belding; one son, Glenn L. VanNortwick of Belding; eighteen grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. William Barnes of Blenco, Iowa; and one brother, Kearney VanNortwick of Grand Rapids. The body was removed to the Brown funeral home in Greenville. Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced. Interment will be in the family lot in Forrest Home cemetery with the Rev. J. Ray Gillium, pastor of the Belding church where Mr. VanNortwick attended, officiating.
