Loma Louise VanOcker 84 of Belding died Saturday August 11, 2007 at Quality 
Adult Foster Care Home in Greenville, where she had resided the past few years. 

Loma was born on December 16, 1922 in Belding the only child of Herbert and 
Nellie Luscombe Ross. She graduated from Belding High School with the Class of 
1940. She was married on November 7, 1949 in Belding  to Earl VanOcker and Earl 
preceded Loma  in January of 1996. She was also preceded by her parents. In 
earlier years Loma had worked at Jolly Kids. Later she and Earl owned VanOcker 
Pallets near Smyrna. Loma was a member of the Smyrna Bible Church, the Ladies 
Auxiliary of the Sheridan VFW and of the Grange. She and Earl enjoyed many 
trips together around the United States. She enjoyed playing cards and loved 
spending time with children and her extended family. 

Loma is survived by her brother in laws and sister in laws; Maryann and Fred 
Reeves, 
Ernie and Rosemary VanOcker all of Belding, Loretta Lane of Crystal and 
Theodora and Don Maltman  of Belding. Loma is also survived by her cousins, 
nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM  Tuesday from Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, 
Belding with Pastors Darwynn Hassert  and Mike Jones officiating. Interment 
will follow in Otisco Township Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 1-3 & 
6-8 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to Smyrna Bible 
Church or the Alvah N. Belding Library.
