T. Earl VanOcker, 69, 6201 Whites Bridge Road, Belding, passed away Thursday,
Jan. 4, 1996 at Butterworth Hospital, Grand Rapids.  He was born June 9, 1926,
in Greenville, the son of Theodore R. and Nina M. Compton VanOcker.

He was an electrician at Gibson’s Products Corp. at Belding, from 1942 to 1985.
 He was a veteran of World War II.  He was a member of the Lester J. Sitts VFW
Post 5065, Sheridan, and the Hugo Fales American Legion Post 203, Belding.  He
was also a member of Smyrna Bible Church.

On Nov. 7, 1948, at Belding he married Loma L. Ross.

He is survived by his wife, Loma L. VanOcker of Smyrna; three sisters and
brothers-in-law, Loretta and Robert Lane Greenville, Theodora and Don Maltman of
Belding, Maryann and Fred Reeves of Smyrna; one brother and sister-in-law,
Ernest and Rosemary VanOcker of Belding; and several nieces and nephews.  He was
preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Maxine Jones, in 1985; and one
brother, Marvin Glenn, in 1970.

Funeral and committal services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the Huffman Funeral
Home, Belding, with the Revs. Darwin Hassert and Kenneth Harger officiating. 
Interment will be in Otisco Cemetery, Belding.  Military services will be under
the auspices of the Lester J. Sitts VFW Post 5065.  Visitation will be Saturday
from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the
funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Donovan Memorial
Scholarship Fund at Belding High School.
