May 23,2018 ROSEMARY Van OCKER, 89 Rosemary L. Van Ocker, 89, of Belding, passed away Sunday May 20, 2018 at home. Rosemary was born on October 5, 1928, in Belding, the daughter of Benjamin and Anna (Kessler) Shindorf. Rosemary graduated from Belding High School with the class of 1946. Following high school, she attended college in Grand Rapids and later worked as a secretary in the Silk Mills of Belding, She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and wintering in Florida. Rosemary was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Belding and a life member of Sheridan VFW ladies Auxiliary Rosemary had a love of family and friends and will be greatly missed. She was married on September 23, 1950, to Ernest Van Ocker and he preceded her in 2014. She was also preceded in death by her parents, brother William Shindorf, sisters Pauline Sparks and Marcella Sower, two sons; Bruce, Roy and granddaughter Brenda. Rosemary is loved an survived by her children; Dale (Mary) Van Ocker of Belding, Ben (Barbara) Van Ocker of Las Vegas, Ralph (Gerri) Van Ocker of Greenville, Cathy (David) Ransey of Lansing, Sue (Mark) Pitcher of Lakeview and Phyllis (Scott) Sprader of Green Bay, WI., 19 grandchildren,17 great-grandchildren and one sister Theresa Ann (TenEyecke) of Grand Rapids. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday, May 24, 2018, at St. Joseph Church, Belding with Father Mark Bauer as celebrant. Committal prayers will follow in St.Joseph Cemetery, Belding. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday with a rosary at 7:30 at Johnson-Feuerstrein Funeral Home, Belding. Memorials may be given to St. Joseph catholic Church, Special Olympics or a charity of one's choice.
