She had arrived last Wednesday after spending the winter with her daughter in San Diego, Calif. For 17 years she had spent the summers with her niece. Mrs. VanSickle was born in Kentville, Ontario, a had been a resident of Ionia 50 years. She was a life member of Ionia OES and a member of the Methodist Church. Her late husband at one time owned Highland Park cemetery and was long in partnership in the firm of Hong and VanSickle milling and feed business with mills at Prairie Creek. They were also in the ice business. He later took over the company. Surviving her are one daughter, Mrs. Ruth Stein of San Diego; two grandchildren, Barbara Jean and Robert Van Stein, also of San Diego and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held from Boynton’s funeral home Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock. The Rev. P.G. Dunbar of Grand Rapids, formerly pastor of the Ionia Methodist church, will officiate at her services. Interment will be in the mausoleum in Highland Park cemetery.
