                  42-year-old Saranac man killed, car accident
Boston Township- Alcohol and excessive speed are suspected to have been a  lethal 
combination for a 42-year-old Saranac driver Sunday night, .SP reports.

Police officials report that witnesses said the driver of a silver 2005 Buick 
Rendezvous traveling west on Parsonage Road about 8:19 p.m. lost control and ran off

the roadway, striking a tree. The driver, Brian Vansipe of Saranac, was pronounced 
dead at the scene.

State troopers are continuing to investigate the incident. Alcohol usage and 
excessive speed are both considered to be factors in this crash, according to MSP. 
At this time, safety belt usage is  unknown. Police are asking anyone who may have 
information regarding the crash to contact MSP at 855-677-9178.

Assisting at the scene were Saranac Fire/Rescue and R. E. Ruehs Garage of Ionia, who

used the Jaws of Life to extricate the driver. Life EMS and Spectrum Health Aero Med

also responded to the scene along with the Ionia County Sheriff Department.
